The politics and events you have been, should be, and will be talking about…
Apparently in less headline worthy news…
A University Professor from Canada has applied for human testing on his newly created and experimental HIV vaccine. The professor has already tested this vaccine on animals with no adverse affects; now he’s going to apply to the FDA to be able to test this vaccine on humans. This is a breakthrough in medicine, because if this drug passes its following phases for certification, then the world will have the cure for HIV, or at least a particular strain of the virus.
Lets get back to the important stuff… MJ, no!
In all honesty, this whole situation is a mess… let the man die with some dignity. Why must every detail of his life be smeared across the news networks? If not for his family’s sake… then for my sanity!
The world needs to start moving on, because new events are happening everyday; the more time that is spent on the life and death on the late KOP, the more time that is taken away from issues that ACTUALLY MATTER!
Listen… nobody cared two months ago when he was perfectly healthy, in all seriousness, when was the last time that you (yes, you!) can say that Michael Jackson entered your train of thought? When was the last time you thought to yourself, “hmm… I wonder how Michael Jackson’s estate is doing since he had to give up the ranch?” Hmm indeed.
I do respect Michael Jackson the artist, because he did make an enormous impact on music as we know it… HOWEVER, there used to be a certain amount of time that we all saw as appropriate for the mourning process, but we’ve kind of crossed over that line a few days ago. All I’m saying is that our attention could be directed towards more important matters, because if we let them fall out of the headlines then the country will let them fall out of their heads.
Some important stories that shouldn’t be allowed out of the headlines…
-A political fundraiser in Encinitas, CA held by a lesbian couple was vioently shut down by a policeman, who aggressively manhandled a pair of female senior citizens, and pepper sprayed the rest of the attendees for trying to help
-NY National Guard to be discharged for admitting to be gay, thus breaking the rule of DODT, the nation says nothing…
-Iraq claims their sovereignty for first time since former President Hussein was ousted from power in 2003
-LGBT community leaders attend fundraiser for DNC… DNC asks for money without delivering on any goods…
-Stephen Colbert coins the following battle cry for LGBT, “We’re here, we’re queer, they’ll get to us eventually…”
See? Many stories that need to be front page news… yet, where are they now? They’ll soon be a part of that old VH1 show that I used to like to watch.
God bless America.

I think that this may be a vaccine for a particular strand of the virus, because HIV is such a beast as far as viruses are concerned… we should be talking about stuff like this, but no… everyone’s content on talking continually about michael freaking jackson. i’m sorry he died, but you’re right, people need to get over it.
Great job

I get home from a full days work and plop down on my couch. I turn on the tube. I want to see what’s been going on in the world while I’ve been typing away at my desk job. The top stories are about which celebrity got a DUI and who was the worse dressed at the last awards show. I care not. When did my news become anything but? Why am I left to flip through channel after channel searching for something of substance? Is the media catering to what the general public wants? What the general public considers news? God I hope not! Or is the media in cahoots with the government? Waving something shiny in their left hand to distract the masses while handing out money with the right? I want to believe, we as a people, would care more about a medical breakthrough than the latest trend, but I’m not so sure. What do you consider news?
